Hello, come take a walk with us!

"A line is a dot that went for a walk."  A quote from Paul Klee, a painter.  One that we find embodies so much of what we love about art and the teaching of it.    Everything starts with the simplest of simple... in this case, a dot.  And goes from there.  A walk, well, it can be straight and swift, purposeful, a means to an end--to get from one place to another.  Or, it can be a meandering, take your time, at your own pace, sort of walk.   Art and the process of creating can be the same way.   One starts with a dot, and then begins this process of walking.  Sometimes swift and sure, sometimes meandering.

This year, we look forward to working with students to empower them to go for their own walks, choosing the path that is right for them and for the work they create.  Come, and enjoy the walk with us!  With this blog we hope to be able to post images of our journey and keep you, the parents and community, updated with where we are in our walks within the classroom.
