Big projects! WALLPAPER unveiling!

There has been soooo much going on these last few months, that my blogging updates have fallen behind.  I'll be playing catch up these next few weeks.  Let's begin with a post a long time coming:  THE WALLPAPER IS UP!  and it looks amazing.  Thank you to PJ Phillips, Tess Everett and Luke Levinthal for helping install it.

If you'll remember, this was a 6-8 contest, built into the curriculum that in included outdoor education, Kehinde Wiley, the artists process and some tech workflow (blogpost about it here and here)...in which students' and teachers voted on (blogpost here).

After finally securing funding (thanks, PTO!), I ordered the paper from Spoonflower and voila, installed!

In all honesty, as an art teacher, this may be the unit that I am most proud of in my two decades of teaching...  It included EVERYTHING that is important to me:  Being outside and moving around, introducing and amplifying the voice of contemporary artists, how to use tech in a positive, collaborative way, and then, student VOICE, community and making the world a more beautiful place.  I hope to do it again, someday!
