Personal Paradises: channeling Pam Hobbs Style and Learning with Painting Techniques

Pam Hobbs, an artist working out of Key West, paints fun, stylized images of paradise.  Students "channeled" her style of patterning and the idea of "paradise" and created paradises of their own.  We had cabins in the snowy woods, summer camps, mountains, lakes, and plenty of oceans and palm trees and oceans.  Students learned about underpainting, blocking in and layering techniques for detail--scumbling, drybrush, dabbing, etc.

I always love lining the halls in April with these pieces!
