Art Windmills on the Town Green

In conjunction with the school wide read of Malala’s Magic Pencil and The boy Who Harnessed The Wind, the art deptmt hatched a plan for a schoolwide art project—spinning bicycle wheels!  We pulled the idea for the Windmills, obviously from the latter book and, seeing as Malala is from Pakistan, we introduced students to the fun and whimsical work of Pakistani truck art—colorful trucks all over Pakistan that their owners paint!  We pulled the idea of making the world a better place one person at a time from Both— art and community makes the world a better place!
